Yemeni Sidr honey

Gathered from the blossom of the ancient Sidr tree, Yemeni Sidr is one of the most sought-after honeys in the world. Its harvest is short and limited, and its aroma is unmistakable.

  • Rich, buttery taste with notes of caramel
  • Limited seasonal harvest, which makes it rare
  • Independently certified for origin and authenticity
Our story

From an ancient land, to your table

Yemen has been celebrated for its honey for thousands of years. جيّد Jayyid means "good" in Arabic, and that's our promise: honey that's good because of where it comes from.

I — The land

Remote valleys, wild blossom

In the valleys of Hadramout and the mountains of northern Yemen, bees forage on Sidr, Sumur and wild meadow flowers, far from intensive farming. This untouched landscape gives each honey its character.

II — The people

Generations of beekeepers

We work with independent Yemeni beekeepers who follow sustainable, traditional practices, many of whom move their hives with the seasons to follow the blossom. They harvest carefully, so every batch is consistent.

Questions

Frequently asked

How do I know your honey is authentic?

Our Yemeni honey comes with reliable, independent certification that uses advanced testing to verify both its origin and its authenticity. Certificates are available on request.

What do Dow'ani, Malaki and Mumtaaz mean?

These are the grades our honey comes in. Dow'ani Sidr comes from Wadi Do'an in Hadramout, the valley most celebrated for Sidr honey. Malaki means "royal" and is a top selection. Mumtaaz means "excellent" and is a wonderful, more accessible way to enjoy each honey. Every grade is genuine, raw Yemeni honey.

Why is Sidr honey so expensive?

The Sidr tree flowers for only a short period each year, and the honey is gathered by hand in remote valleys. A limited harvest, high demand and a unique aroma make it one of the most valuable honeys in the world.

My honey has crystallised. Is it still good?

Yes. Crystallisation is a natural sign of raw honey. To return it to liquid, stand the jar in warm (not hot) water and stir gently. Never microwave it.

How should I store honey?

Keep the lid tightly closed and store it at room temperature, away from direct sunlight. There's no need to refrigerate. Always use a clean, dry spoon.

Do you supply wholesale or gift orders?

Yes. We welcome enquiries for gifting, corporate orders and trade. Get in touch and we'll be happy to help.

Is honey suitable for babies?

No. Honey should not be given to children under 12 months old.
